In January 2012 nominal income per capita in Azerbaijan amounted to 226.1 manat, which is 13.2 percent more compared to Jan, 2011, the State Statistics Committee told Trend on Saturday. Real money income per capita amounted to 202.1 manat with an increase of 13.3 percent.
In January, the nominal income of the population in Azerbaijan exceeded 2.062 billion manat, which is 14.8 percent higher than last year. Real money incomes of population during this period reached 1.843 billion manat with an increase of 14.8 percent.
During the reporting period the population spent 79.2 percent of personal income to purchase goods and services, 10.6 percent - to pay the taxes, social insurance and mandatory membership fees and 7.6 percent - to the accumulation of capital. The income remaining at the disposal of the population was 1.8 billion manat, which is 14.8 percent higher compared to Jan, 2011.
Average monthly wage in Azerbaijan was 363.1 manat at the end of 2011 which is 9.5 percent higher compared to 2010.
The highest salary was recorded in the mining industry, spheres of the financial and insurance activities, information and communication, scientific and technological activities, as well as those working in the construction sector.
The official exchange rate is 0.7863 AZN to $1 on Feb. 18.
