ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 29. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Türkiye in digital technologies, education, healthcare, and humanitarian fields, Trend reports via Akorda.
“Visa-free regime will strengthen our friendship, deepen mutual trust and pave the way for new achievements,” Tokayev said, commenting on the recent decision to allow Turkish citizens to stay in Kazakhstan for up to 90 days without a visa.
The President congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the successful hosting of the IDEF 2025 International Defense Industry Exhibition, noting Türkiye’s remarkable achievements in the defense and military-technical sectors.
Tokayev highlighted the potential for joint IT development, calling it a strategic area for future partnership. He also pointed to strong educational ties: over 12,000 Kazakh students are studying in Türkiye, while 300 Turkish students are enrolled in Kazakh universities.
He expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s support and outlined key initiatives, including the opening of two Maarif Foundation schools in Kazakhstan, the launch of a Gazi University branch at the South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University, and preparations for a Medipol University branch in Astana.
Healthcare collaboration is also expanding, with plans for training Kazakh medical professionals in Turkish clinics.
The president stressed that the growing cooperation in education, technology, and people-to-people ties reflects the deepening strategic partnership between the two countries.
