ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 29. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a joint press briefing following high-level talks in Ankara, Trend reports via Akorda.

In his remarks, President Tokayev expressed deep gratitude to his Turkish counterpart and the fraternal Turkish people for the warm hospitality extended during his official visit. He praised Türkiye’s centennial achievements under President Erdogan’s leadership, noting that the country has entered a new era marked by global recognition and influence.

“Each visit to a country with which we share common roots carries special significance. Under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s leadership, Türkiye confidently celebrates its centenary with historical accomplishments. These successes are the result of the unity, wisdom, and resilience of the Turkish people and the tireless efforts of President Erdogan,” said Tokayev.

“Kazakhstan sincerely respects President Erdogan and the people of Türkiye and wishes them continued prosperity,” he added.

The Kazakh leader also emphasized the growing scope of bilateral relations, which have evolved into an expanded strategic partnership. He expressed confidence that the outcomes of the 5th High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting, held earlier the same day, will elevate cooperation across all areas.

“Today, we reviewed priority areas that will energize our bilateral engagement. Several key intergovernmental documents were signed to strengthen ties across sectors. Türkiye remains one of Kazakhstan’s key strategic partners in trade, economics, and investment. Last year, bilateral trade reached $5 billion, and we are determined to significantly increase this figure given the strong potential," Tokayev said.
