On Oct. 3, in anticipation of the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan, the two countries will launch the first joint youth business incubator, Uzbek media reported.
During the first stage of the incubator’s activity within two weeks, residents from Russia and Uzbekistan will undergo an educational program on the basics of conducting bilateral business, will visit the leading companies in Russia’s Belgorod and take part in B2B (business to business) negotiations.
The work will result in protection of business projects, as well as signing of agreements on cooperation and contracts.
Twenty residents, representatives of state and regional authorities of the two countries, well-known experts and successful entrepreneurs will take part in the incubator’s work.
The work of a similar business incubator will also be organized in November in Tashkent.
The project is organized by the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Russian Union of Youth, the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan and Belgorod State University.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan this autumn.
In the first half of 2018, Russia became the main foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan. The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $2.83 billion, or 16 percent of the total trade turnover of Uzbekistan ($17.7 billion). By the end of 2018, Uzbekistan and Russia plan to bring the volume of mutual trade to $6 billion.
As of Jan. 1, 2018, 1,035 companies with the Russian capital operated in Uzbekistan, according to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
In turn, 612 companies with the participation of Uzbek residents are registered in Russia.
