Azerbaijan and Russia are discussing the possibility of establishing joint production in the field of pharmaceuticals, automotive industry and household chemicals, head of representative office of the Russian Export Center (REC) in Azerbaijan Nuri Guliyev told Trend.
He noted that projects are also being considered to localize production in the field of special road equipment and rail fencing systems.
Speaking about cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals, Guliyev noted that this sphere is one of the successful areas of cooperation in the field of industry and the joint project on the construction of a modern pharmaceutical complex “Hayat Pharm” in Azerbaijan serves as confirmation.
He added that the possibility of cooperation in the field of aircraft engineering is being considered and a technical maintenance and repair center may be opened for helicopters of the company Silk Way Helicopter Services, noting that the center will perform technical maintenance and repair of Mil helicopters belonging to Azerbaijani government departments and organizations.
He reminded that during a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in September this year, several agreements were signed providing for cooperation in the development of the national assembly production of commercial vehicles “GAZ”, as well as joint implementation of projects in the field of export support from Russia.
He further stressed that at the same time, cooperation in the field of tourism is developing.
“Joint-Stock Company Northern Caucasus Resorts and Shahdag Tourism Center CJSC signed a memorandum of cooperation and mutual understanding in order to develop the tourist potential of the Caucasian regions,” said Guliyev.
He noted that there is also active cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
Guliyev reminded that as part of the working visit of Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Oreshkin to Baku, consultations were held between the concerned departments of Russia and Azerbaijan, following the results of which an agreement was reached on opening a branch of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in Baku.
