Uzbekistan will begin trial deliveries of fruits and vegetables to the largest retail network in Russia, "Auchan" from May 1, Trend reports via Podrobno.uz.
The management of "Auchan" and a delegation of a number of Uzbek enterprises concluded an agreement on the abovementioned deal during the negotiations at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia.
The agreement provides the start of trial deliveries of Uzbek fruits and vegetables to the "Auchan" network, on May 1 of the current year.
Furthermore, the Uzbek side proposed to organize a visit of the delegation of trade network to the country to get a visual overview of the potential of Uzbekistan in the field and to conclude direct contracts with potential suppliers.
The president of Auchan Retail Russia, Francois Remy, gave a high assessment to Uzbekistan’s opportunities in the agricultural sector, saying that he was well informed about the unique taste qualities of the Uzbek products.
He expressed readiness to establish joint cooperation with Uzbek partners and outlined specific conditions for cooperation.
Moreover, the entrepreneur stressed the need to exclude middlemen and organize the direct delivery of goods from Uzbek manufacturers.
Auchan Holding is a French corporation and one of the world's largest retailers that represented in many countries. Over 300 Auchan supermarkets have been opened in Russia, employing more than 41,000 people.
