The oil price of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) climbed down further from an annual high this week, descending to 81.65 dollars towards the end of the week, the group said Friday, DPA reported.
The cartel's basket price shed 0.76 dollars per barrel (159 litres) on Thursday.
OPEC-produced oil had reached 82.59 dollars Tuesday, the highest level since October 2008.
OPEC's 12 member countries pump over a third of global oil supplies.
