Gas condensate produced by the South Pars Gas Complex in southern Iran has increased by five percent during 10 months of this Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through January 20, 2020) compared to the same period of last Iranian year, Hadi Hashimzadeh Farhang, executive director of South Pars Gas Complex, said.
“The gas condensate production program was fully implemented in accordance with the plan,” Farhang added, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA).
“The complex consists of eight ethane producing plants and seven propane producing plants and there is an increase in the production of these products,” executive director added. “The complex produced over two million tons of propane, 1.2 million tons of butane and 567,000 tons of sulfur within 10 months.”
The gas which is extracted by Iran from the South Pars gas field which is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar (this field is called North Dome in Qatar) is transported to the processing plants in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone situated in Assaluyeh port city of Iran’s southern Bushehr province.
The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field have reached 51 trillion cubic meters of gas (36 trillion extractable).
Presently, 630 million cubic meters of gas may be extracted from Iran's South Pars gas field daily.
After new platforms are commissioned at five phases (13, 14, 22, 23 and 24), gas production volume will increase up to 680 million cubic meters a day.
