BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 2. According to Eni’s World Energy Review 2024, Azerbaijan has joined the ranks of the world’s top 10 gas exporters, Trend reports.
The report highlights Azerbaijan’s gas exports reaching 23.29 billion cubic meters in 2023, a 5.4 percent increase from the previous year.
The US, Russia and Qatar are in top 3 oil exporters with 212.19 billion cubic meters, 131.63 billion cubic meters and 129.30 billion cubic meters, respectively.

Azerbaijan’s gas imports remain relatively minimal, with no substantial import figures reported in the latest data. The country imported 1.76 billion cubic meters of gas in 2018, 1.52 billion cubic meters in 2022 and 2.28 billion cubic meters in 2023. This highlights Azerbaijan’s self-sufficiency and its role as a net exporter in the global gas market.
