ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 31. The association of the regional transport department of the Mary region of Turkmenistan has transported more than 1.3 million tons of cargo since the beginning of the year, Trend reports.
According to official data, during the specified period, the planned figure for cargo transportation was exceeded by 8 percent.
The total cargo turnover within the Mary region has reached 29.4 million tons since the beginning of the year, which is 9.7 percent more than the planned figure.
Furthermore, public transport in the region transported 12.8 million passengers during the specified period, which exceeded the established plan by more than 2 percent.
In general, the surplus of funds planned to be received exceeded 2.5 million Turkmen manats ($713,553), which is 8.4 percent more than the expected mark.
The transport sector of Turkmenistan plays an important role in the development of the economy and ensuring the connectivity of domestic and international transport.
