The President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting today, the Kyrgyz President's press service reported on Friday.
The meeting took place during the third Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States held in Azerbaijani city of Gabala.
The topical issues of bilateral cooperation and further steps on strengthening relations between the two countries were discussed at the meeting.
Atambayev and Nazarbayev also discussed the issues related to the upcoming meeting of Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, which will be held in Kazakhstan.
The parties have agreed that the prime ministers of the two countries will hold a meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh interstate council in autumn of this year in order to prepare for holding the Supreme Interstate Council at the level of heads of states.
