Kazakhstan discloses April's regional inflation trends

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 17. Annual inflation in Kazakhstan decreased to 8.7 percent in April 2024 (from 9.1 percent in March), while it slowed in 15 regions, climbed in 4, and was steady in 1 region, Trend reports.

Meanwhile, the National Bank of Kazakhstan reports that monthly inflation in Kazakhstan for the reporting period was 0.6 percent.

The regions of Karaganda and Mangystau have the highest annual rates of inflation.

Food prices fell to 6.3 percent year-on-year in April (from 6.9 percent in March). The Ulytau region saw the greatest increase in goods prices (9.9 percent), while Aktobe saw the smallest (4.4 percent).

The increase in prices for non-food products has decreased to 7.6 percent year-on-year (from 8.2 percent in March). The highest number was reported in Mangystau (13.5 percent), and the lowest in the Almaty region (5.2 percent).

Prices for paid services increased by 13.5 percent year-on-year in April (compared to 13.2 percent in March), with prices rising much higher in Aktobe (17.5 percent) and significantly lower in Ulytau (8.3 percent).
