BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 30. Kyrgyzstan exported 5,472 tons of oil products to China from January through May 2024, which is 85 percent more than 2,951 tons during the corresponding months of 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the country’s Statistical Committee shows that the value reached $5.416 million, an increase of 69.9 percent compared to $3.187 million in January-May last year.
China was the largest importer of oil products from Kyrgyzstan. The main share of Kyrgyzstan's oil product exports went to Türkiye, totaling 46,039 tons worth $30.742 million. Uzbekistan was the second-largest importer, receiving 24,536 tons valued at $7.071 million.
In the first five months, Kyrgyzstan exported 87,074 tons of oil products worth $56.644 million. The volume of these exports increased by 73.9 percent compared to 50,064 tons in the same period of 2023, and the value rose by 55.1 percent compared to $36.510 million in January–May 2023.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan foreign trade turnover reached $6.488 billion in the first five months of 2024, which is an 18.6 percent increase compared to January–May 2023.
Exports totaled $1.046 billion, a 4.8 percent rise from January through May 2023. Imports increased by 21.7 percent year-on-year, reaching $5.442 billion.
