BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. The total value of Tajikistan’s cotton exports to Uzbekistan significantly increased in the first quarter of 2022, Trend reports referring to the Customs Service of Tajikistan.
Tajikistan’s total value of cotton exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $13.5 million from January through March 2022, which is 4.5 times more compared to $2.9 million of the same time period in 2021.
Uzbekistan imported from Tajikistan goods worth of $47.7 million in the first quarter of 2022, which is almost 2.5 times more compared to $19.5 million in the reporting period of 2021.
Overall, Tajikistan’s trade turnover with Uzbekistan from January through March 2022 totaled $163.4 million, which is an increase of 30 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($125.6 million).
