DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, June 23. Tajikistan imported 595 motor cars from Georgia from January through May 2024, which is more than a two-times decrease compared to the same period in 2023 (1,221 cars), Trend reports.
Data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) indicates that the value of these imports reached $8.488 million, decreasing by 34 percent compared to $13 million in January–May of the previous year.
Specifically, Georgia imported the following number of vehicles each month: 120 in January, 116 in February, 139 in March, 110 in April, and 110 in May.
Trade turnover between Georgia and Tajikistan amounted to $11.948 million from January through May 2024, which is a decrease of 26.1 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($16.167 million).
Georgia's exports to Tajikistan totaled $11.752 million during these months, marking a 27 percent decline from $16.131 million recorded in January–May 2023.
Georgia's imports from Tajikistan reached $195,740 from January through May 2024, which is an increase compared to $36,030 in the same period in 2023.
