BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. Iran plans to increase its oil and gas condensate refining capacity by an additional 180,000 barrels per day during the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2025, through March 20, 2026), said Alireza Armanmoghaddam, NIORDC's Deputy CEO, Trend reports.
Speaking to local media, Armanmoghaddam mentioned that this expansion includes the planned launch of the Mehr Oil Refinery in the Persian Gulf, which will process 120,000 barrels of gas condensate daily.
The official also mentioned that the construction of the South Adish Oil Refinery is nearing completion, with physical work 90 percent finished. This refinery will process 60,000 barrels of crude oil per day and will produce 2.5-3 million liters of diesel daily, although it will not produce gasoline.
To date, Iran’s crude oil and gas processing capacity stands at 2.37 million barrels per day. Iran operates ten oil refineries across the country.
