Iran President to deliver keynote speech at UN General Assembly

(IRNA) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to deliver a keynote speech at the 61st annual session of the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, reports Trend.

He is among leaders scheduled to address the Assembly in today's opening session.

Ahmadinejad has just concluded official visits to Senegal, Cuba and Venezuela.

During his three-day stay in New York, Ahmadinejad is to confer with a number of heads of states on global developments.

On the last day of his stay in New York, the Iranian president is to attend a news conference at UN headquarters.

The US administration refused to issue visas to all Iranian reporters as well as a number of the president's entourage in defiance of all international rules and regulations.

The Iranian president, heading a delegation, was welcomed at New York airport by Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and staff of Iran's diplomatic mission to the UN.
