BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Iran's South Pars Gas Complex Company produced a total of over 243 million barrels of gas condensate last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), the company's CEO Gholamabbas Hosseini told reporters, Trend reports.
He said that last year, the company produced 606,000 tons of sulfur, 2.5 million tons of butane, 3.7 million tons of propane, and 1.8 million tons of ethane.
Hosseini noted that each of the company's refineries has the potential to produce 50 million cubic meters of gas, 400 tons of sulfur, 77,000 barrels of gas condensate, 1,800 tons of butane, 1,100 tons of propane, and 2,750 tons of ethane per day.
"The daily production value of the South Pars Gas Company is $10 million, and the annual production value is $3.5 billion. This means having a very important share in the country's economic development," he pointed out.
Hosseini also said that last year, the South Pars Gas Company delivered more than 135 million barrels of gas condensate to the Persian Gulf Star Refining Company, one of the companies that has a major share in the country's gasoline production. In addition, four million barrels of gas condensate were sent to Nuri Petrochemical Company last year.
To note, South Pars Gas Complex Company obtains 650 million cubic meters of rich gas daily from the South Pars gas field. A total of 580 million cubic meters of gas is processed and transferred to the country's gas network. The company also produces 780,000 barrels of gas condensate, 15,000 tons of ethane, 15,000 tons of propane, 10,000 tons of butane, and 2,500 tons of sulfur daily.
The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran's share in the field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
