A cluster of moderate earthquakes near the U.S.-Mexico border has rattled southern San Diego County as a swarm of seismic activity continues one week after a magnitude-7.2 quake slammed the area, AP reported.

The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude-4.4 earthquake struck at 9:42 a.m. Sunday about 11 miles west of downtown Calexico.

More than two dozen other quakes in the magnitude-3 range were also reported in the same area Sunday.

No damage or injuries have been reported.

Scientists say the increased seismic activity is normal following the magnitude-7.2 earthquake last Sunday. Officials say the Easter quake killed two people and caused an estimated $100 million in damage in California alone.
