A man attacked 18 pupils and one teacher with a knife at a primary school in south China's Guangdong Province Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The man in his forties barged into Leicheng First Primary School in Leizhou City at around 3 p.m. and committed the attacks, before he was seized by police, Xinhua reported.
All the injured have been rushed to local hospitals. It is not immediately known how badly hurt they were or whether anyone has died.
The school campus was crowded with anxious parents at around 4 p.m., with loudspeakers calling on students to leave the school, according to Xinhua reporters who were there shortly after the attacks.
