BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. The 65th meeting of the Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was held in Baku, Trend reports.

The meeting was opened by Musa Guliyev, Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

Addressing the event, BSEC Secretary General Asaf Hajiyev said that artificial intelligence has become an integral part of our lives.

“Artificial intelligence should not be considered a separate science. In fact, it is a whole field in which mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, and psychology play an important role. The synthesis of all sciences forms a whole field,” he emphasized.

The Secretary General noted that AI also has dangerous aspects:

"Along with convenience, artificial intelligence can also create problems and harm our lives. In this regard, the role of parliament is very important. The laws adopted here are aimed precisely at preventing these negative processes, which are so dangerous that they can even create problems for human life. Therefore, we decided to discuss the topic of artificial intelligence in all three committees of our organization. This topic, of course, also has social aspects."

Hajiyev emphasized that the path to the PABSEC began with the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan. On behalf of everyone, he thanked Milli Majlis Speaker Sahib Gafarov for organizing the event at the appropriate level.

A draft recommendation was discussed at the meeting.

The draft decision was presented by the Chairman of the PA BSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy, Deputy of the Azerbaijani Parliament Musa Guliyev.

Following discussions, the recommendation was adopted.

Information was then presented on the activities of the Black Sea region countries within the structure.

In addition, Azerbaijani Parliament deputy Musa Guliyev announced that the next, 66th meeting of the PA BSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy would be held in Albania.

He noted that the 66th meeting would take place in March 2026.
