TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 15. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provides UzCarlsberg, a subsidiary of Carlsberg Group, with a working capital loan of up to $6 million, Trend reports via the EBRD.
UzCarlsberg, which has been a client of the Bank since 2022 and is the country’s only brewer manufacturing international branded products, will use the loan to acquire ingredients and packaging materials and improve the management of seasonal stock.
The working capital loan will add necessary flexibility to the operations of the company, which sees increased demand for its products in the summer months.
The project is supported by the Japan–EBRD Cooperation Fund.
Uzbekistan continues to be the leading recipient of EBRD financing in Central Asia for the fifth consecutive year. To date, the Bank has invested over 5.5 billion euros across 174 projects in the country, with a strong focus on private sector development.
