DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 21. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the Dushanbe municipality have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation on digital transformation and urban management in the Tajik capital, Trend reports via the bank.

The MoU builds on collaboration launched in 2021 and aims to support the development of new projects under the EDB Digital Initiatives Fund, including the city’s electronic map platform. In 2025, the fund invested around $1 million to develop the platform, which is currently in its core development phase, testing methodologies and processes and coordinating with four municipal departments.

Under the agreement, the electronic city map will be enhanced with new modules, including a transport model and technical infrastructure inventory, to improve urban planning and management decisions.

“The partnership will help address Dushanbe’s key challenges, ensure seamless city governance, and integrate systems across departments,” the EDB said.

As of July 2025, the EDB’s portfolio included 319 projects with total investments of $19.1 billion, mainly in transport infrastructure, digital systems, green energy, agriculture, industry, and engineering.
