Two million government workers in Iran will get about $245 million (USD) in foodstuff for the approaching month of Ramadan.
Each government employee will receive 20 kilos of rice and five kilos each of chicken, cooking oil and sugar, said Hassan Radmard head of trade development at the Ministry of Industry, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
The ministry's importing chicken from Turkey and Poland in order to be able to provide it to workers.
Saturday, July 21, marks the start of Islam's holy month of Ramadan.
