SOCAR is planning to open a large filling complex in the Odessa region of Ukraine in November-December this year, SOCAR's representation in Ukraine said. This will mark the official entry of the company the retail market for oil products in Odessa.

"One filling station operates now. But small filling stations will open after a large filling complex is opened," the representation said.

A source said that operations are underway to prepare the stations for commissioning.

A source said that the earlier single filling station in Odessa, opened on Aug. 7, was a pilot. The filling station sells high-octane petrol from Romania and Lithuania, as well as diesel EN590. Three large fuel tanker DAF trucks were bought to ensure the supply of oil products.

Earlier SOCAR bought 20 filling stations in Ukraine. This project is only a part of a large program of the company's activities in Ukraine, in particular large-scale retail sale of oil products.
