Azerbaijan, Baku, March 31 / Trend H. Valiyev /

Four Azerbaijani universities have expressed a willingness to launch
the Microsoft IT Academy program, Microsoft Azerbaijan Partnership in
Education Program Manager Emin Akhundov said.

He said the company has already received applications from the Baku
Computer College, Azerbaijan State Economic University, Caucasus
University and Baku State University.

"The process of launching the IT academy does not require much
effort," he said. "But it deals with the universities' preparedness,
namely the presence of specialists. Four years ago, we promoted this
program at the Azerbaijan Technical University, but unfortunately,
this project cannot be called successful."

Nevertheless, universities are showing an interest in the program. The
Cisco Network Academy at Khazar University is part of the curriculum.

"The Cisco Networking Academy is not just an optional course that
students can attend or not, it's part of the program," he said.

The Microsoft IT Academy Program is designed for universities and
secondary schools. It involves training students to pass Microsoft
certified exams. Each student receives a diploma.
