ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 11. The Turkish Fatinoglu Holding is interested in implementing an investment project to create a new high-tech production facility in the West Kazakhstan region, Trend reports.
This topic was discussed during a meeting between the head of the regional executive power Nariman Turegaliev and representatives of the Turkish holding.
Turegaliev noted that the executive power of the region is ready to provide full support in the implementation of the project under discussion.
According to him, there are currently 7 enterprises operating in the West Kazakhstan region with the involvement of Turkish capital.
"Kazakhstan's President exercises exclusive authority over investment attraction in the regions. Companies from Türkiye are actively engaged in collaboration with our region. At the conclusion of 2023, the trade turnover between the region and Türkiye was $321.5 million, with $303.4 million in exports and $18 million in imports. We are undoubtedly interested in the implementation of your initiatives to establish a new high-tech production facility in our region. We are prepared to offer comprehensive assistance in the execution of your concepts," he said.
Meanwhile, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Türkiye amounted to $6 billion in 2023. The volume of trade turnover decreased by 5.3 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($6.3 billion).
At the same time, in the structure of trade turnover, exports to Türkiye for the above period amounted to $3.9 billion, which is 16.4 percent less than from January through December 2022 ($4.7 billion).
In addition, imports from Türkiye from January through December 2023 increased by 27 percent and amounted to $2 billion. In 2022, imports amounted to $1.6 billion.
