DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 17. Tajikistan and China's telecommunication networks will be directly connected in the near future, Trend reports.

As per the data from the Communication Service under the Government of Tajikistan, this measure is part of the project involving the construction of a high-speed main transportation network along the 'Dushanbe-Kullyab-Darvaz-Rushan – Khorog – Kulma' route.

It has been stated that practical work is now being carried out at a rapid pace to permit the rapid development of a direct connection between Tajikistan's and China's telecommunication networks. This development intends to increase the relevance and transit potential of Tajikistan's telecommunication networks, thereby removing the country's communication isolation.

China stands as one of Tajikistan's key partners. From 2007 to 2023, China's investment volume in Tajikistan amounted to $3.34 billion.

Tajikistan's National Bank recently indicated that future transactions with China will be performed in yuan. The bank cites growing trade turnover between the two countries as the reason for its decision.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan also reported that by the end of 2023, the trade turnover between Tajikistan and China might increase by 10.4 percent compared to last year.
