DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 16. The value of production in Tajikistan's manufacturing industry reached 30.2 billion somoni ($2.7 billion) in 2024, which is a 7.6 percent more compared to 2023.

Data obtained by Trend from the Statistical Agency of Tajikistan indicates that the value of food production, including beverages and tobacco, amounted to 11.4 billion somoni ($1 billion). The production in textile and apparel industry reached 4.06 billion somoni ($373 million), while the production of wood and paper products, and printing activities stood at 856.5 million somoni ($78.6 million).

Moreover, the production of petroleum products reached 81.6 million somoni ($7.4 million), chemical production was valued at 566.7 million somoni ($52 million), and other non-metallic mineral products amounted to 4.021 billion somoni ($369.4 million). The metallurgy and production of finished metal products totaled 8.09 billion somoni ($743.2 million).

Overall, Tajikistan's industrial output reached 53.8 billion somoni ($4.9 billion) in 2024, which is a 20-percent increase compared to 2023 at constant prices.

The growth in the mining industry was most significant, with an increase of 43 percent, while electricity, gas supply, steam, and air conditioning grew by 5.7 percent. Water supply, waste treatment, and recycling experienced a substantial rise of 34.9 percent.

As many as 3,774 industrial enterprises were registered in the country as of January 1, 2025, which is 330 more than the same period last year. In the previous year, 740 new enterprises and workshops were established, including 528 industrial enterprises.
