BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. Various increases in production and processing of crude oil and gas in Iran have been recorded over the past 100 days, Trend reports via Iran's Oil Ministry.
Iran's Oil Ministry announces that crude oil production in the country has increased by 60,000 barrels and gas production by 30 million cubic meters over the last 100 days.
The country's gasoline production increased by 8.5 million liters per day, and diesel production increased by 5 million liters per day during the mentioned period.
The Iranian Oil Ministry has taken a number of steps to promote international cooperation with neighboring countries during the 100 days. Among the steps taken by Iran's Oil Ministry on importing gas from Russia are extending the contract on gas exports to Türkiye, extending the gas swap contract with Azerbaijan's SOCAR, swapping Turkmen gas to Türkiye, and reaching an agreement on importing gas from Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Ministry of Oil did not disclose details of the above-mentioned agreements.
Iran's total hydrocarbon reserves amount to 1.2 trillion barrels. Iran can produce 340 billion barrels with existing technological equipment. Iran can utilize about 30 percent, and 70 percent remains unutilized underground.
Iran holds the position of the world's second-largest gas producer, boasting reserves of approximately 34 trillion cubic meters of gas. A total of 22 gas fields are currently operating in Iran. The nation produces 1.07 billion cubic meters of rich gas daily from various gas fields.
