(IRNA) -. Iranian Energy Minister Parviz Fattah arrived in Baghdad Monday to negotiate about developing Iraq's electricity industry and exchanging views on expansion of electrical power transfer cooperation, reports Trend.
Upon arrival in Baghdad, Fattah by referring to the latest negotiations in Tehran between Iranian Energy Ministry's officials and Iraqi energy minister said he was in Baghdad to follow up former agreements and expansion of cooperation.
He said there are currently 3 points in the Iran-Iraq border for transferring electricity and the officials of the two countries are negotiating to increase the points to 7.
Fattah added 150 mega watts electricity is currently transferred annually through Pole Zahab to Khaneqin in Iraq which has the potential to be increased to 180 mega watts.
He said in two other points, in Marivan and Panjvayn, all Iranian facilities are ready to transfer 20 mega watts annually to Iraq, but the Iraqi installations are not ready yet.
Also, 2.5 mega watts electricity is transferred through Haj Omran area to Iraqi villages nearby.
The Iranian delegation will stay in Iraq until Friday and during the period they will meet and negotiate with Iraqi senior officials including the president, prime minister and energy minister.
