BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has called on the European Union’s Ambassador to Georgia to publicly condemn recent street demonstrations in Tbilisi, which he described as an attempt to undermine the country’s constitutional order, Trend reports.

Speaking at a press briefing, Kobakhidze said the ambassador “has a special responsibility” to clarify the EU’s stance and distance himself from what the government views as destabilizing activities.

“The EU Ambassador to Georgia has a special responsibility to speak out, distance himself, and strongly condemn the events unfolding on the streets of Tbilisi,” the Prime Minister said. “This is his direct responsibility, especially since we have heard explicit statements supporting an attempt to overthrow the constitutional order.”
