BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21.A Memorandum of Understanding on medical cooperation has been signed between Azerbaijan and China, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Health said in a statement, Trend reports.
The document was signed during a meeting between Professor Nazim Panahov, Rector of the Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institute for Doctors named after Aziz Aliyev under the Ministry of Health, and Professor Tang Zhishu, Rector of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
The delegation from the Institute also engaged in discussions with the leadership of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where they explored the application of traditional Chinese medicine and potential avenues for international collaboration in this field.
Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the existing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, with both sides agreeing to expand future cooperation.
The delegation also had the opportunity to visit the clinic of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine to learn about its operations.
Later, at the meeting held at the Peking University Health Science Center, cooperation issues on continuing medical education, scientific research, and resident and fellow exchange were discussed. The parties agreed to establish a joint working group and sign a memorandum of cooperation in the future.
At the meeting held at the People's Hospital of Peking University, the hospital's healthcare management model, diversification mechanisms in the organization of medical services, and the field of traumatology were introduced.
The meetings open new opportunities for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in the fields of medical education, traditional medicine, and healthcare organization.
