BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. Kazakhstan's National Food Contract Corporation JSC (PRKR) has signed five export contracts for the supply of grain and oilseeds to buyers from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and China, the JSC said in a statement in response to a request from Trend.

A source at the company stated that the total value of these contracts amounted to $19.5 million.

"In order to stimulate the export of crop products, the PRKR has developed and launched a program to consolidate export batches of grain for small Kazakh agricultural producers and exporters.

The company also acts as a liaison between farmers and large international buyers, facilitating the signing of direct contracts. The national grain operator consolidates product batches and handles the full export process, including transportation support," the source said.

The company also reminded that one of these projects involves an export contract signed in Beijing for the supply of up to 200,000 tons of feed barley to the Chinese holding Jiangsu SOHO Holdings Group.

Furthermore, negotiations are currently underway to expand cooperation with other Chinese companies in the agricultural product supply sector.

"Negotiations are being conducted through the Ministry of Agriculture with representatives of major Chinese companies. In particular, during the recent visit of Minister Aidarbek Saparov to Beijing, where he led a Kazakh delegation of more than 30 business representatives from the agro-industrial complex (AIC), a roundtable discussion took place.

As a result of the roundtable, Kazakh and Chinese companies signed memoranda and contracts worth $1 billion," the source added.

Notably, the Food Contract Corporation JSC reached agreements on cooperation with strategic Chinese partners in early December.

The Food Contract Corporation JSC implements Kazakhstan's grain sector policy by actively participating in ensuring food security, stabilizing the domestic grain market, and providing financial support to agro-industrial entities.
