ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 15. The President of Kazakhstan welcomed the plans of Abu Dhabi Ports to build several large facilities, emphasizing that these initiatives align with Kazakhstan's strategic interests in developing maritime and port infrastructure in the Caspian Sea, during a meeting with the CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Trend reports.
The meeting was dedicated to discussing the prospects of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of previously reached agreements in the transport and logistics sector. Tokayev emphasized that the development of transport infrastructure and transit corridors is crucial for ensuring sustainable economic growth and boosting international trade.
Mohammed Al-Shamsi thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the ongoing support in implementing joint investment projects. He also informed the President about the mutually beneficial cooperation with the Samruk-Kazyna fund and the national company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Mohammed Al-Shamsi expressed confidence in the successful implementation of joint projects.
To note, the President of Kazakhstan is on a working visit to the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, where he also took part in the official opening of the "Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week" and the Zayed Sustainability Prize award ceremony.
