BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 25. The number of micro, small, medium and large business entities operating in Azerbaijan's Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions was 5,240, and individual entrepreneurs - 94, 799 as of January 1 of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that by the reporting date the Karabakh region recorded 3,984 micro, 197 small, 87 medium, and 11 large business entities, while the Eastern Zangezur operated 882 micro, 51 small, 23 medium, and five large business entities.
At the beginning of the month, the number of individual entrepreneurs operating in the Karabakh economic region was 88,505, while in the Eastern Zangezur economic region, it was 6,294.
Compared to 2023, the number of micro, small, medium, and large business entities operating in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur regions grew by 492, or 10.4 percent, and individual entrepreneurs - by 5,610, or 6.3 percent.
To note, as of January 1, the number of existing micro, small, medium, and large business entities (except individual entrepreneurs) in the country was determined based on the criteria of "average number of employees" and "annual income," in accordance with the "Classification criteria for micro, small, medium, and large business entities", approved by Decision No. 556 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan on December 21, 2018.
