BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 11. A total of 4,150 medium business entities operated in Azerbaijan as of early 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that this figure increased by 563 units (15.7 percent) compared to 2023 (3,587).
During the reporting period, the highest number of medium business entities (2,850) was registered in Baku.
The second place in the list was occupied by the Absheron-Khizi economic region (240 entities), while the third place - the Guba-Khachmaz economic region (111 entities).
Additionally, 91 medium business enterprises operated in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 49 in the Mountainous Shirvan, 94 - Lankaran-Astara, 87 - Karabakh, 88 - Gazakh-Tovuz, 110 - Ganja-Dashkasan, 109 - Central Aran, 74 - Mil-Mughan, 133 - Shaki-Zagatala, 23 - Eastern Zangezur, and 91 -Shirvan-Salyan economic regions.
To note, 68.7 percent of medium business enterprises are located in Baku, 5.8 percent - Absheron-Khizi, 3.2 percent - Shaki-Zagatala, 2.7 percent - Guba-Khachmaz, and the rest - in other economic regions.
The largest number of medium business enterprises operate in trade and vehicle repair (1,423), while the fewest are in other sectors (47).
