BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 26. A total of 8.25 billion manat ($4.85 billion) in loans was issued to large business entities in Azerbaijan as of late January 2025.

Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows that this figure decreased by 42 million manat ($24.7 million), or 0.5 percent, compared to the end of last year (8.3 billion manat, or $4.88 billion).

To note, the total business loan portfolio of banks operating in Azerbaijan amounted to 14.7 billion manat ($8.6 billion) by the end of January 2025. This represents an increase of 13.9 percent, or 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion), compared to the previous year when the business loan portfolio stood at 12.9 billion manat ($7.5 billion).

As of January 1 of the current year, 868 large business entities have been actively engaged in operations within the jurisdiction of Azerbaijan.

The majority of large business entities are involved in trade and vehicle repair (194), while the fewest are in other sectors (three).
