ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 29. The government of Kazakhstan has allocated more than 6.5 billion tenge ($13 million) for the development of transport infrastructure in the industrial zone of the city of Kostanay, Trend reports via the press service of the Kazakh government.
The corresponding decree was signed by the nation's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. The funds will be used for the construction of access roads and Category 3 railway tracks to the KIA car manufacturing plant in the industrial zone of Kostanay.
"It should be noted that the KIA car manufacturing plant under construction is one of the largest automotive projects. The plant's planned capacity is about 70,000 vehicles per year," the statement says.
At present, the construction and installation phase is actively
progressing, with the integration of engineering communications in
full swing, engaging a workforce exceeding 500 personnel. The
project is projected to generate an aggregate of 1,500 employment
opportunities.
The operational rollout of the facility is scheduled for Q4
2025.
A total of five initiatives have been activated within the Kostanay
industrial zone in Kazakhstan. A total of nine initiatives are
presently undergoing active development phases.
