ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 8. During the
government meeting, Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol
Myrzabosynov announced a series of new initiatives aimed at
developing tourism in rural areas and protected territories,
Trend reports.
One such initiative is granting farmers the right to engage in
agritourism on their land. According to the Minister of Tourism,
there are currently more than 200,000 peasant farms in the
country.
"This measure will create additional jobs for rural residents and
improve the well-being of rural areas," noted Myrzabosynov during
the government meeting.
He also reported that legislative work is being carried out to
extend the long-term lease period in national parks to 49 years in
order to facilitate tourism and recreational activities.
"To improve the quality of hotel services, a reform of the hotel
classification system is planned. The existing criteria have not
been updated since 2008 and do not meet modern international
standards," said Myrzabosynov.
Additionally, a "green corridor" system is being introduced at
border crossing points to facilitate the movement of organized
tourist groups. Currently, this mechanism is in pilot mode at the
border between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
Today, a government meeting is taking place in Kazakhstan under the
leadership of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, where the agenda
includes the development and digitalization of the tourism
industry.
