BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Product exports to Caspian countries through the ports of Mazandaran Province located in northern Iran rose by 10 percent during the five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2025) compared to the same period last year (March 20 - August 21, 2024), Nahid Shahraminia, an official of the Road and Transport Department of Mazandaran Province, told local media, Trend reports.
As per his analysis, the primary commodities in the export
portfolio comprised cement, dairy derivatives, and mineral
resources.
Shahraminia articulated that throughout the specified timeframe, in
excess of one million tons of critical commodities were transacted
through the maritime gateways of Mazandaran Province.
The official said that 37,500 tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Mazandaran Province in five months.
The transit increased by 82 percent compared to the same period last year.
Shahraminia added that in the past five months, the major part of the import, export, and transit of products was carried out through the Amirabad port among the provincial ports.
To note, three ports operate in the Mazandaran Province—Amirabad, Nowshahr, and Fereydunkenar ports.
