ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 22. Turkmenistan and South Korea have ramped up their preparations for the 2026 Central Asia-Republic of Korea Summit, Trend reports via Turkmen MFA.
The discussions were held during the meeting between Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Joo Hyun-baek, the Special Envoy of the Korean Foreign Minister. In addition the parties discussed broader bilateral agenda, including political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Both sides noted that high-level contacts continue to serve as the basis for expanding Turkmenistan-Korea relations.
Central Asia–Republic of Korea Summit is expected to outline new areas of regional cooperation in connectivity, energy, digital development, and human capital. The summit, to be hosted by Korea, will bring together leaders of all Central Asian states and is considered a platform for shaping long-term partnership priorities between the participating countries.
