Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a decree today on the development of a program to create new and accelerate approved investment projects on production modernization, technical and technological renewal.
The preamble of the document says there is a highly volatile situation in the world economy.
"All this aggravates the world market conditions, increases the risks in international economic relations and, above all, in operations to place the Uzbek foreign currency reserves in foreign deposits," the document says. "It requires the adequate measures to implement these risks."
The available reserves and opportunities are important to accelerate the modernization, technical and technological re-equipment.
The program is aimed at the efficient use of resources to create new and to reconstruct the existing production facilities to improve the competitiveness of their products in domestic and international markets.
The program must include a mechanism accelerating the work to formalize the building design and construction documents for new investment projects in strict accordance with building regulations.
