Kazakhstan slightly ups cargo turnover in January - July

Kazakhstan increased cargo turnover by 1.5 percent compared to the same period of 2012 to 267 billion ton-kilometres (including cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs), Kazakhstan Today reported with the reference to Kazakh Statistics Agency.

In July the cargo turnover increased by 4.7 percent compared to the same month of 2012 mainly due to increase in railway transportations the share of which in the total cargo turnover hits 46.4 percent. Cargo transportations in the reporting period by motor vehicles reached 29.9 percent and via pipelines - 23.3 percent.

The volume of passenger traffic increased by 11.3 percent and hit 130.2 billion passenger-kilometres in January - July 2013.

Passenger traffic increased by 10.5 percent in July 2013 compared to the same period of 2012 mainly due to growth in passenger transportation by cars and via railways.
