By Milad Fashtami - Trend:

Iran is currently negotiating with two South Korean and Chinese-Malaysian companies over construction of the second terminal of the Imam Khomeini International Airport.

A domestic consortium is also willing to take part in the construction plan, Iran's ILNA News Agency reported on June 8.

Iran is currently studying the proposals to decide whether it wants to carry out the project in the form of finance or a Build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract.

The highest bid has been around 5 trillion rials ($156.2 based on the exchange rate of USD at the free market) so far.

The second terminal of IKA is expected to be constructed in 3 years.
