In January-August 2018, the overall production volumes of clothing in Azerbaijan totaled 38.5 million manats, which is 0.5 percent more than in the same period of 2017, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee's report said.
According to the report, the production volume of leather goods and footwear also increased by 54 percent up to 15.79 million manats for the year, in the spinning industry - by 63 percent, to 161.52 million manats.
Products of the spinning industry, footwear, clothing and leather products worth 215.8 million manats (63 percent growth for the year) were produced during the first eight months of this year.

The retail turnover of the products of the spinning industry, clothing and footwear amounted to almost 4.15 billion manats during the reporting period, increasing by 3.3 percent for the year. Consumers spend about 18.1 percent of their funds for clothing and footwear in shopping malls.
Compared with July, in August, prices for clothing and fabrics increased by 0.1 percent, for footwear - by 0.1 percent. For the year, prices for these products increased by 2.8 percent, 5.3 percent and 1.5 percent, respectively.
