In the last Iranian year (March 21, 2018-March 20, 2019), Iran's exports of goods through its Kurdistan province increased by 85 percent in terms of value, compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2017-March 20, 2018), Director General of Kurdistan province Customs Administration Bakhtiyar Rahmanipour said, Trend reports via IRNA.
In the last Iranian year, through the customs of Sanandaj, Bashmakh and Baneh in Kurdistan province, 1.12 million tons of goods worth $1.22 billion were exported in various directions, Rahmanipour said.
He added that the exports grew by 66 percent in terms of weight.
Bashmakh customs accounted for 769,000 tons of goods worth $721 million, while Siranband border market accounted for 75,400 tons of goods worth $33.5 million, he said.
In total, 1.97 million tons of goods worth $1.9 billion were exported through the province's customs, Rahmanipour said.
Main export goods were apples, liquid soap, greens, fish and cucumbers, he added.
