A sulfuric acid plant has been commissioned in the Mes-e Sarcheshmeh city of Iran's Kerman province, Trend reports via IRINN.
More than 450 billion rials (roughly $10.7 million) were spent on the plant's construction.
The plant has the capacity to produce 610,000 tons of sulfuric acid per year.
The production process will not cause acid contamination in the environment.
Some downstream industry, as well as chemical fertilizer enterprises will be established following the the plant.
Some 200 people have been provided with jobs at the sulfuric acid plant.
Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani attended the event dedicated to the plant's opening, while Iranian President Hassan Rouhani joined the event via video call.
