Kazakhstan’s Samruk Energy is planning to introduce new extraction technology at Kazakhstan’s largest coal mine – Bogatyr, Trend reports citing the company.
The technology introduction - cyclical flow technology - is planned for 3Q2022 and will also cover the coal transportation process.
Following the technology introduction, the production capacity of Bogatyr Coal LLP, which operates the min, will increase from the current 42 million tons to 50 million tons of coal per year.
The cyclical flow technology which is to be introduced will improve the quality of extracted coal, as well as will increase labor productivity and will slow down the growth of production costs of coal mining.
Bogatyr Coal LLP conducts opencast coal mining at two open-pit mines of the Ekibastuz coal basin – Bogatyr and Severny (Northern mine).
The production capacity of the enterprise is 42 million tons of coal per year, including 32 million tons at the Bogatyr mine, and 10 million tons at the Severny mine.
