A strong explosion occurred in the Kerkuk-Yumutalik oil pipeline on Wednesday night as oil was being delivered from Iraq to Turkey, Hürriyet newspaper reported on Thursday.
According to the newspaper, the explosion occurred in the Iraqi section of the oil pipeline. As a result of the explosion, the oil supply from Iraq to Turkey was suspended.
The newspaper also reported that this is now the 37th case of an explosion in this oil pipeline in the past two months and this particular one was the strongest in the whole history of the pipeline's commissioning.
